Apex Legends New Map “Broken Moon” and Catalyst’s Abilities Shown Off in New Trailer

Apex Legends Update 1.000.043

In the first in-engine gameplay trailer for Apex Legends: Eclipse, Respawn Entertainment has shown off Apex Legends’ new map “Broken Moon” and new Legend Catalyst’s abilities, coming to the game November 1.

Check out the trailer below:

Catalyst (real name Tressa Crystal Smith) is a defensive Legend with the power of ferrofluid manipulation. This skill reflects in her Tactical Ability “Piercing Spikes,” Passive Ability “Barricade,” and Ultimate Ability “Dark Veil.” Catalyst is shown creating spiked ferrofluid zones on the floor of the map. These zones damage and slow enemies, allowing easy takedowns thanks to their crowd control power. She also seals a door shut with ferrofluid in the trailer, which we assume is the Barricade ability. Lastly, she can also create a large wall of cascading ferrofluid spikes, which is probably the Dark Veil ability.

The new “Broken Moon” map is set on Cleo, moon of the planet Boreas. Broken Moon is a terraforming project on Cleo’s surface commissioned after a catastrophic meteor impact, and to fund further colonization, the government has brought the Apex Games to the moon.

Broken Moon is similar in size to World’s Edge and features a wide array of terrain. Much of the map and its 14 points of interest can be traversed using zip lines. Check out the official screenshots below:

“Eclipse,” the 15th season of Apex Legends, rolls out November 1 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
