If you’ve scrolled through Banishers’ achievement list at all, one might have stuck out in the list. The achievement “Teacher’s Pet” requires you to find 15 Bibles and return them to Hugh Batcheler. Today, we’ll be showing you where to find all the Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Bibles to add the trophy to your collection and complete the “Bible Studies” side quest.
There will be some minor story spoilers contained in this guide, so consider this a heads up! The quest required to complete this achievement unlocks itself pretty late into the game, so we recommend making significant progress before attempting it. You’ve been warned!
With that being said, here’s our guide for all Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Bibles locations.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Bibles Locations and “Teacher’s Pet” Achievement Walkthrough
To start hunting for these holy books, you’ll first have to complete the “Saints and Sinners” Haunting Case in The Harrows, which unlocks after you’ve finished the main quest in this area. Afterwards, rest at a shelter to see that a new quest has popped up in the Hamlet. Interact with the community board at the center of the Hamlet and then talk to Hugh Batcheler in his home or at the Meeting House to begin the “Bible Studies” Side Quest.
Once you’ve picked this quest up, all of the King James Bibles you may have seen scattered throughout the map during your playthrough will become interactive. You really only need five to complete this quest but collecting 15 will award you with the “Teacher’s Pet” achievement.
We’re getting ahead of ourselves, though. Here’s the 15 Bible locations and the order we think you should grab them in. We’ll include map locations for the ones that are more out of the way, but there are a handful right inside shelter locations that we don’t feel a map view is helpful for. Let’s dive into it.
The Harrows
- Bible #1: Meeting House – The first Bible can be found in the Meeting House of The Harrows Hamlet, on a table just to the left from the entrance.
- Bible #2: Harrows Hamlet Shelter – The second Bible is close by! It’s inside The Harrows Hamlet Shelter, just to the right of the fire.
- Bible #3: Harrows Hamlet Abandoned House – There’s a Bible tucked away on a crate immediately to the right inside the abandoned house where the Deceased’s Personal Belongings Locked Chest is located.
- Bible #4: House Northeast of The Harrows Hamlet – Travel to the Small Cave Shelter in the Northeast part of The Harrows and head to the house South and slightly East of it on the map to find Bible #4. There’s a Farmer’s Case Locked Chest here if you need help navigating to it. The Bible is on a shelf to the left of the locked chest.
- Bible #5: North of the Mill House – The last Bible in The Harrows is in a house North of the Mill House Shelter. There’s a building on the map that contains a Locked Chest, so we can head there to find it. The Bible is on a shelf just to the left of the door inside.
The Dark Woods
- Bible #6: Hunters Camp Shelter – The sixth Bible is at the Hunters Camp Shelter. It’s on a bookshelf to the right of where you spawn in.
- Bible #7: Northeast Hunters Camp House – Another Bible is found in the house just Northeast of the Hunters Camp across the river, visible immediately inside the entrance.
- Bible #8: Kate’s Bivouac Shelter – Travel to the Kate’s Bivouac Shelter in The Dark Woods. From here, Head out the left exit and look on a small crate near a lantern on the right side just before the cave’s exit to find the next Bible.
- Bible #9: Wolf Den Shelter – The Wolf Den Shelter in The Dark Woods also houses a Bible. Turn to the left from where you spawn to see it on a small crate.
- Bible #10: Lumber Camp – Bible #10 is in the Lumber Camp to the Northwest of the Hunters Camp. Gaining access to this area requires progression of the “Fortune Favors the Bold” Haunting Case for The Twins. Once you reach the section of the Haunting Case where you have to find a way across the bridge, head up to the Lumber Camp in the Northwest of The Dark Woods (this can be found just to the West of the bridge if you’re following the mission waypoint) and shimmy through a small opening to find a Bible immediately to the left on a shelf.
Mount Pleasant
- Bible #11: Fort Jericho Shelter – There’s a Bible in the Fort Jericho Shelter directly across from where you spawn in.
- Bible #12: Fort Jericho North Building – Just North of the Fort Jericho Shelter is a building that contains a Bible on a table to the left of the door by a window.
- Bible #13: Fort Jericho Armory Main Floor – There’s yet another Bible in the Fort Jericho armory building. Head inside either through the door or by climbing up the building from the South side ramparts and dropping inside, then follow the elevated walkway around to the Northwest corner to find a Bible on a shelf.
- Bible #14: Fort Jericho Armory Basement – You won’t have to go far to find the next one, as it’s located in the armory’s basement. Head down the staircase on the South side of the interior and you’ll find a Bible in the jail cell directly across from the bottom of the stairs.
- Bible #15: Bligh Estate Shelter – Our last Bible is easily found inside the Bligh Estate Shelter. It’s on a table on the corner.
After you’ve collected all fifteen Bibles, you’ll receive the “Teacher’s Pet” achievement. Nice! Head back to The Harrows Hamlet to return them to Hugh Batcheler and complete the “Bible Studies” side quest and earn some XP as a bonus treat.
