Battlefield 2042 Crosshairs, Kill & Hit Indicators Options to Customize Confirmed by DICE

battlefield 2042 hit indicators

If you’ve seen the Battlefield 2042 gameplay footage that’s released (and leaked), and you find issues with the hit indicators, don’t fret, as this is not final according to DICE, and players will be able to customize it come launch.

This was confirmed by Battlefield Core Gameplay Designer Florian Le Bihan over on Reddit, where he posted a response to a user who commented on whether the “weird” hit-markers were bothering people. Le Bihan confirmed that there will be customization options for hit indicators/hit markers, kill indicators and even crosshairs.

Hit indicators are very Work In Progress in the footage you saw, they’re going to change for the Open Beta and will change again even more at launch since those are the elements we save time for iterating on usually at the end. Same applies to kill-feed and the similar hit / kill feedback elements.

The issue with hitmarkers showing below reticle / crosshair was a bug as well which has been addressed since.

Options to customize crosshair / hit indicators / kill indicators will be available and we can potentially add more heavily requested options! 🙂

In the same Reddit thread, Le Bihan mentioned how he hopes gamers will like what they see in terms of hit indicators and sounds at launch.

There are a lot of different tastes about hit/kill indicators as well as sounds – Hope you’ll like what you’ll see (and hear) when we launch! 🙂

This is definitely good news. Of course, for now, we don’t know whether these options will be available on all platforms or just PC only. Hopefully, this means that if we want to tweak it so the kill indicators are the same as Battlefield 3’s, we can. Curious how that’ll look in Battlefield 2042? Check out this fan-made edit where BF3 killfeed is added to BF2042!
