Battlefield 6 Has a Daily XP Cap That’s Pretty High, But Some Gamers Argue There Shouldn’t Be One at All
With DICE switching on double XP this weekend for Battlefield 6, it’s the perfect time for players to grind to unlock equipment, items and even weapon attachments to make the grind a lot easier.
However, it appears that you can’t grind for as long as you like each day, as there is a daily XP cap in Battlefield 6!
Once you’ve reached that cap, the game will no longer reward XP for the day, which is a bit shocking to see, I admit.
Battlefield 6 Player Hits Daily XP Cap in a Few Hours Thanks to Double XP
One Battlefield 6 player has mentioned that after playing the game for 4-5 hours with double XP, they have managed to hit the daily XP cap, which is apparently set at 1.5 million XP! Once you’ve amassed that much in a day, apparently, you cannot earn anything for the rest of the day. It’s unknown whether there is a reset time or if this means you’re locked out from earning more XP until 24 hours have passed.
The BF6 player notes, “Yeah. In a $70 “AAA” game not a mobile free2play title you’re being told how much fun you’re allowed to have per day,” and added, “EA somehow managed to make progression time gated in a premium game, and almost nobody’s talking about it.”
What’s funny is, the replies from other gamers who state, “If you hit 1.5m xp in one day you gotta go outside.” Another one adds, “For real, go touch grass. There’s more to life than battlefield.”
Another BF6 community member added, “While I see their point, I think if you’re hitting enough daily playtime for this to be an issue that it might be time to reconsider some things about your life.” It’s not because these people are not playing that much either, as another user commented, “Man I have hit nearly 150h on it, I took 3 days off at launch and been sick 1 week so I could stay at home and play. I spend way too much free time during the weekends playing as well. I have never hit that cap…”
Another person mentioned how the complainant “might have just outed themselves as a botter,” which means they are essentially having multiple people use their account or something similar to farm XP and rank up nonstop.
As someone who has played Battlefield 6 almost everyday for a few hours a day, I have never hit the cap myself. Having said that, it is weird to have an XP cap at all. Another person mentions that the cap might be there, so that people will need to login daily, stating, “Putting a cap on is scummy because it pushes more for people to have to come back the following day and do their dailies every day like a good little slave. It reminds me of energy tokens regenerating in mobile games.”
Do you agree that a $70 product, AAA release, should not have a daily XP cap? Or is DICE correct in doing this to make sure XP grinding doesn’t get abused? Sound off in the comments.
In other Battlefield 6 news, DICE has finally acknowledged the bots situation in matchmaking, and explained why your matches are filled with them.
