After Community Backlash, Devs Silently Remove Battlefield 6’s Neon Blue Infantry Skin
Just a week before Season 1 of Battlefield 6 kicked off, one of the skins that was set to be released during the season’s launch was outed, which caused outrage within the community
While it doesn’t take a lot ot rile up the Battlefield fan base, this one did have a point, since it was a slippery slope that could lead to wacky infantry skins seeping their way into the shooter.
It appears that the developers at DICE had a sudden change of heart, as the skin is no longer available.
Battlefield 6’s Neon Blue Skin Disappears Without Any Announcement
If you need reference what the skin looks like, check out the image we’ve shared previously.
The item, which is called the “Wicked Grin” skin, has been removed from the game for now. You cannot buy it via in the in-game store or earn it as a Battle Pass reward. Publisher Electronic Arts or any developer from Battlefield Studios has not commented on it either.
Chances are, the developers will retool it to make the colors more subdued, or perhaps just remove it entirely. The game has enough new cosmetics that I doubt this will be missed. However, if you think about it, there’s only so much you can do with grey, black, and other dark colors when it comes to patterns.
Speaking of Season 1 cosmetics, you can earn some for free right now via the new season’s Twitch Drops.
Given that the developers have addressed this issue somewhat, we hope the issue with bots will be handled at some point in the future as well. Would you want to see that particular infantry skin return with a more muted color or do you want it scrapped entirely? Sound off in the comments.
Don’t forget, Battlefield RedSec is out now, and any cosmetics you earn for Battlefield 6 can be used in the battle royale mode too.
