How to Download and Install Battlefield RedSec on PC, PS5, and Xbox
After recent rumors and speculation, Battlefield RedSec is finally here, the new battle royale from the creators of Battlefield 6. It has made a strong impression with a trailer that highlights massive destruction, matches with up to 100 players, and teams of two to four members. Best of all, it’s completely free to play.
“Drop into Fort Lyndon, a government testing ground turned warzone, where squads fight for survival in a Battle Royale only Battlefield can deliver. Experience massive-scale destruction, fast-paced squad play, and the deadliest ring in BR,” explains DICE in its official description.
How to Install Battlefield RedSec
You can download Battlefield REDSEC for free from Steam, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store. The PS5 version is also enhanced for the PS5 Pro, offering better visuals and performance.
Additionally, if you already own Battlefield 6 and don’t want two separate games, you can merge them into one. Go to Settings > System > Install/Uninstall, then select the Battlefield RedSec download so it appears as part of the main Battlefield 6 menu.
The game includes optional microtransactions that do not affect gameplay. They only add cosmetic items for weapons and characters, and all future content will be released for free.
If you want to host private matches in Battlefield RedSec, you’ll need to buy the Battlefield Pro add-on. It includes the Season 1 Pass, 25 tier skips, and several bonuses for the duration of the season. The price is $24.99.
In the meantime, if you’re playing Battlefield 6 on PC and feel that aiming at infantry seems a bit “off,” there’s a setting change that could drastically improve your in-game performance.
