battlefield 6 next update 1.3.2

While DICE just released a game update for Battlefield 6 this week, the next major update has already been dated, and it’s due on June 9.

The developers call this title update version 1.3.2, and this brings Cairo Bazaar into the map rotation, as well as significant visibility improvements, and huge adjustments to vehicles.

The actual patch notes aren’t available yet, but the latest community update from the studio gives us a ton of info on what to expect from the patch and DICE’s plans moving forward.

Battlefield 6’s New Patch on June 9 and Gameplay Improvements

Cairo Bazaar

Blastpoint introduces Cairo Bazaar, our reimagined take on the Battlefield 3 classic, Grand Bazaar.

While the core of the experience remains true to the original, Cairo Bazaar has been rebuilt for Battlefield 6 with expanded destruction, updated combat spaces, and new opportunities for flanking and close-quarters chaos. The action takes place within the streets and markets of Cairo, Egypt, bringing a more vibrant yet war-torn atmosphere to the experience while preserving the tight infantry-focused gameplay that made the original map a fan favorite.

DICE then talks about soldier visibility as one of the key things being improved in patch 1.3.2, and we can even how it’s changing.

Soldier Visibility

One of the most consistent areas of feedback we’ve seen is around visibility during combat. Whether it’s spotting enemies in dense foliage, identifying targets in darker interiors, or tracking players against complex terrain, we know how important it is that you can quickly read the battlefield and react with confidence.

These soldier visibility filter improvements result in:

  • Reduced visual noise around enemy characters, helping them stand out more clearly against terrain, foliage, and heavily detailed backgrounds
  • Better adaptation to dark interiors and bright outdoor environments, improving overall target readability during combat
  • Improved contrast, color separation, and silhouette definition to help enemy soldiers remain easier to identify across a wider range of combat scenarios
  • More consistent visibility behavior across both close and long-range engagements
  • Reduced visual artifacts around soldiers in effects like fog, resulting in a more natural appearance during combat

Together, these updates are designed to make target acquisition feel more reliable and engagements easier to read, especially in fast-paced or visually complex situations.

Check out the bef0re-and-after examples of how easy it will be to spot enemies once June 9 update has been applied.

Another thing being looked into the June 9 patch are vehicle improvements — both air and ground.

Air Vehicle Improvements

Bigger Aircraft Minimap

Pilots will now see a larger area on the minimap while flying.

  • The minimap camera is being raised higher.
  • This gives pilots and gunners better awareness of nearby fights and enemy movement.
  • Easier to spot threats and coordinate attacks.

Attack Helicopters Get Built-In Radar

The Radar System upgrade will now come standard on all Attack Helicopters.

Before:

  • Radar took up an upgrade slot.

Now:

  • Radar is free by default.
  • Players can use that extra slot for other upgrades instead.

New Thermal Vision Upgrade

A new “Thermal Optics” upgrade replaces the old radar slot option.

What it does:

  • Lets helicopter gunners use thermal vision while zoomed in.
  • Makes enemies easier to spot through smoke, clutter, or at long range.

Ground Vehicle Improvements

Battlefield 6 Next Update Version 1.1.3.6

Mobile Anti-Air Vehicle Gets New Missiles

The anti-air vehicle is getting two missile types players can choose from.

High Velocity AA Missiles

  • Harder to aim manually.
  • Deal much higher damage.
  • Best against slow or large aircraft.

Laser-Guided AA Missiles

  • Easier to control and track targets.
  • Better against fast-moving aircraft.

Infantry vs Vehicle Balance Changes

Players can expect the RPG trajectory to be adjusted, so that it’s easier to judge shots.

Land vehicles will be getting “crawl speed,” as APCs (Armored Personnel Transports) can now be damaged by heavy machine guns.

Spray Paints

DICE is introducing Sprays when the June 9 update is introduced, which give players new ways to express themselves across the battlefield.

All players will have access to a default Spray at launch, with more becoming available through future progression, events, and seasonal content.

Portable Mortar

Portable Mortars and Missile Intercept Systems can no longer be equipped or placed together. This change is intended to reduce heavily protected mortar setups and encourage mortar players to actively reposition instead of safely bombarding objectives from a single location for extended periods of time.

We’re also reducing Portable Mortar health from 250 to 50. This means enemy counterbattery fire will be significantly more effective, with a single enemy shell capable of destroying a mortar and temporarily putting that player out of action while they wait to resupply.

Progression Changes

The developers are trying to make progression in Battlefield 6 feel faster, smoother, and less grindy — especially early on.

Faster Battle Pass Progression

Compared to Season 1:

  • Players completed the Battle Pass over 2.5x faster in Season 2.
  • People unlocked more rewards overall.
  • Early progression was sped up so players get meaningful unlocks sooner.

Basically, what this translates to is: less grinding from the start, faster access to weapons, gear and customization items.

Hardware Mastery progression will also be accelerated with the new patch, as players can now unlock attachments 50% faster! This applies to all weapons, even including sidearms.

Upcoming Planned Gunplay Changes

DICE is currently exploring weapon adjustments such as damage multipliers across several weapon categories, alongside broader ballistic updates involving muzzle velocity, drag, and bullet drop behavior.

The studio has also begun testing “narrower” Sweet Spot ranges for bolt-action rifles. Recoil variation are also being tested and is aimed at improving the handling predictability and consistency of automatic weapons during sustained fire.

There are also RedSec and Portal changes planned as well, which you can read about here.

Once the official patch notes are out, which should be available a few days before the download starts, we’ll let our readers know.

In other FPS news, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was officially announced today and will be released on October 23.
