Battlefield 6 Operation Augur to Be Reactivated Sometime in Season 3 as DICE Monitors Overall Player Experience
Sometime in Season 2, DICE launched Operation Augur for Battlefield 6, which is a limited-time mode that featured a mix of combat and was inspired by the franchise’s Operation game mode.
For those wondering what happened to the mode once Season 3 started this week, DICE is here to shed some light on that.
The good news? The developers have confirmed Operation Augur is coming back.
Battlefield 6 Operation Augur Returning in Season 3 Confirmed
In a new announcement on the official Battlefield Discord channel, DICE explained why they took Operation Augur out of the matchmaking rotation. The devs state, “With the additional content coming in Season 3, we’re dedicated to maintaining healthy matchmaking across all featured experiences, which means making tough calls on which modes stay active at any given time.”
The plan is to “reactivate Operation Augur” sometime in Season 3, and this is while DICE continues to monitor activity across the other modes.
The developers also explained, “We are still in the early stages of reviewing the overall player experience of Operation Augur along with investigating some potential changes. Your feedback around areas like match pacing, map selection, Attack/Defense balance, sector layout, match length, and how different classes impacted the game flow is very helpful. We’ll review this feedback alongside the data we gathered during Season 2 as we continue shaping how Operations show up in Battlefield moving forward.”
This is definitely good news for Battlefield 6 players who are fans of the mode. We wouldn’t be surprised if it makes a return as part of the Season 3 mid-season refresh, though that doesn’t have an exact date yet.
