Battlefield 6 Reviews Round Up – Is This the Comeback Fans Were Hoping For?
The Battlefield 6 review embargo has finally lifted, and critics are sharing their thoughts on EA and DICE’s new shooter. The game launches tomorrow, October 10, so fans can now see if it really lives up to the hype.
Review codes were sent out last week, giving outlets time to try both the campaign and multiplayer. Here’s how the game is being received so far.
Battlefield 6 Review Scores on Embargo Lift
Battlefield 6 is a giant leap forward for the franchise, returning it to the peak of online first-person shooters.
For a good war shooter to be truly exceptional, it needs to be fun but also have a great setting and atmosphere to create that authentic war feeling. Battlefield 6 achieves both, making it possibly the best war FPS of the decade and promising endless fun for its players in the coming months — or perhaps even years.
Battlefield 6 offers a carefully-crafted and layered multiplayer that strives to be its least threatening self, with innovation and creativity played down in favor of refining all the proven successes from the military genre.
A safe, dull reimagining of what Battlefield once was, rather a bold reinvention of what it could be.
Battlefield 6 is an incredibly strong return to form for the series, with a multiplayer experience that is finely tuned with huge potential for what it could build into, destruction mechanics that bring a level of immersion back to the series that it was missing, and a more than solid visual and sound design package tying up how endlessly fun it is to play. The single-player campaign fails to impress, but the multiplayer experience more than makes up for it.
Where is the MP1st Battlefield 6 Review?
Our review will go live in the coming days, just as soon as we have spent enough time in the multiplayer playing the actual product on real-world servers. Given most gamers will be getting Battlefield 6 for the multiplayer, we thought it best it be reviewed on real-world conditions.
Ahead of launch, multiple reports surfaced claiming that some retailers had started selling the game early, with PS5 copies spotted before release. Some players also said they were able to play the campaign and online modes, likely through early review servers.
There’s also speculation that EA and DICE may have activated these servers early for testing and reviews, but they’re expected to reset once the game officially launches tomorrow.
It’s worth noting that Battlefield 6 day one patch is now live across all platforms. The update brings over 200 fixes and improvements, including smoother movement, weapon changes, better map balance, and improved netcode. Physical owners will get the patch while installing the game, while digital pre-load players can download it right now.
