The Battlefield Hardline Open Beta arrives this Tuesday, February 3, EA and Visceral Games announced today.
Open to all players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, the Beta will launch with three playable multiplayer maps, three playable multiplayer modes, and unlimited access to Hardline’s arsenal of weapons and gadgets through the beta’s un-capped unlock progression.
Hotwire features high speed chases on maps like Downtown and Dust Bowl while players will also get a taste of traditional Battlefield action in 64-player Conquest on Dust Bowl (24-player Conquest on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360). In addition, Heist allows players to live out the cops and criminals fantasy in objective-based combat on the map Downtown.
In any mode, both cops and criminals will have access to Hardline’s Hacker Mode. Comparable to Battlefield 4’s Commander Mode, it allows users to survey the battlefield by hacking into security cameras, spotting enemies, and issuing orders to squads and teammates.
“There’s nothing more valuable to our team than the relationship we have with our community. Their passion feeds our passion and their feedback has definitely helped make Hardline a better game,” said Steve Papoutsis, General Manager of Visceral Games and Executive Producer of Battlefield Hardline. “We want them to play the hell out of the beta next week and trust that they’ll keep that feedback coming so we can continue to fine tune the game.”
The beta will be available for six days, until February 8. UPDATE: It will vary in size; 10-11 GB on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and just under 4 GB on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Origin users can begin pre-loading the beta on February 2 at 10AM Pacific. You can read the entire FAQ right here.
