Black Ops 7 Beta’s Anti-Cheat Measures Prove Highly Effective, as 98.8% of the Matches Were Cheater-Free by Day 5

Call of Duty‘s ongoing war against cheaters and hackers appears to be paying off. In an update issued by Team RICOCHET, the minds behind Call of Duty’s Anti-Cheat System, RICOCHET, they’ve revealed that since the start of the beta, their tool has been learning, adapting, and improving its detection of cheats being used in-game.

So much so that a vast majority of the matches during the Black Ops 7 beta were free of cheaters, with less than 2% making it through before being banned by day 5 of the beta.

Call of Duty Achieves Nearly 100% Cheat-Free Matches During the Black Ops 7 Beta

Like moths drawn to a flame, cheaters and hackers love targeting Call of Duty due to its sheer popularity. For the better part of the decade, it’s been a major issue with the series, though that’s not to say that the studios have been sitting idly by and letting it happen. In fact, over the years, they had deployed numerous measures against them, but it was not until the introduction of RICOCHET that they truly saw a shift tipping in their favor.

But this year’s Call of Duty is much different, as the PC version of the game now mandates TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, and for RICOCHET, those new security measures have done wonders at keeping cheaters at bay.

This was revealed by Team RICOCHET on X (formerly Twitter), who had this to say about the growing success rate of tools:

“We’ve been tracking the Black Ops 7 Beta closely — and the data tells a strong story. On Day 1, 97.5% of matches were completely clean of cheaters. By Day 5, that number rose to 98.8% of matches being cheater-free.” Team RICOCHET said on X, “The trend is clear: Each day of Beta, #TeamRICOCHET adapted and improved, preventing and stopping cheaters faster — and ensuring more players experience the clean matches they expect.

This is the result of years of investment, refinement, and collaboration across teams who care deeply about fair play. Our work doesn’t stop here.

We know how much it means when your matches feel fair. No second-guessing your loss. No watching the replay and thinking, “Was that legit?”

So, we’re not done yet. RICOCHET Anti-Cheat keeps adapting to protect your time and your matches, and most importantly, earn your trust. There’s much more to come.”

Now, we don’t expect the tool ever to hit 100% (but it’ll get pretty damn close), but with these new statistics, it’s clear the pressure is on cheat makers, as their tools continue to get foiled. It’s all about deterrents, and with the team investing more in not only RICOCHET but also pursuing cheat makers beyond the game, it’s only a matter of time before cheating becomes nearly a thing of the past.

That is, of course, as long as the studios are willing to continue the fight, which they most definitely will.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The open beta concludes tomorrow, with the launch of Season 6 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
