If you played the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha and wanted to test the game out before you buy, here’s your chance! Thanks to Activision, we’re doing a Modern warfare beta codes free giveaway and it’s for any platform!

How to snag one? Super simple! Just tell us in the comments below what you want to see more of on the site, and/or what we can do here on MP1st to make the site better. Simply put, we want to do more giveaways, have better reader interaction and such, but we can’t do that without your help. The best and most insightful comments will win one, which we’ll either email (the email registered to your Disqus account) or via social media (Twitter).

  1. I’d definitely like to see more next gen console rumors. Although I understand that sometimes rumors are nothing more than speculation, I’d say if they’re from credible sources they are at least an interesting read.

  2. I think you guys should start a youtube channel and do gameplays and stuff. or features on games etc.

    1. We have a channel, main problem is we don’t have the time. Sure I can upload random clips to it, but at the same time I’d like to keep it at a professional level and have consistency throughout it all. I promise, we will work towards it eventually and I have read the other comments here concerning it.

  3. I think covering more massively multiplayer gaming news would be awesome. There’s been a lot of cool stuff happening in that scene recently!

  4. Personally, I’d love to see more content focused on multiplayer games that I can play with the kids. As a parent, it can be tricky to find decent kid-friendly games out there.

    1. I’m no parent, but I do agree with you. One thing for our site that I and Alex agree on is that we tend to try to keep it as family safe. Now we cover rated M games, but there are a lot of sites that cover those not suitable for work types of games. Not that I have anything against them, I just prefer not going for cheap hits like that.

      I’ll keep this in mind though we I start adding more titles to my list of games to cover

  5. I think that posting more of what is popular in the community can get you guys a lot of views.

    1. We tend to try, but at the same time I enjoy covering some of the more Niche titles that people tend to ignore. Always love supporting the smaller developers when i get the opportunity even if it means exposure on the site may not be huge

  6. Two things for me: as others have said a youtube channel with breakdowns and updates for the community would be awesome. And more tips and tricks articles/videos on all game types and platforms.

    1. Video new is on the table and hopefully something we can kick off soon. More giveaways are coming this year I promise you that, and hopefully soon!

  9. Reviews, impressions and discussion points to grow the community back. I remember during the Bf3 days, there used to be a lot of people here and we would have civil and sometimes heated discussions on our favorite games.

    1. You are absolutely right about the community. The site took a major dip, I tried to keep it alive during those times but had time issues. If you didn’t know already, David left the site last year due to life. Good guy and hopefully one day he comes back in some form.
      I will try to push for more unique content. Miss the good old days

      1. Good on you for not giving up on the site. Those were fine times. I remember DICE’s own PoolShark used to be active here. I still chuckle when I think about the Battlefield 4 April Fool’s joke that other sites ran as actual news. 🙂

    1. We can make this happen, hopefully with Call of Duty. We will be having some new contests launching hopefully soon to at least get the community more involved.

  12. Maybe bring on some content creators to do game reviews/collaborate, and the placement of the ads are so very annoying.

    1. I’ve mentioned the ad issue before and we will work on it as the site grows. Please bear with us on that!

      bringing in content creator has been a thing I and Alex have discussed privately, though we would like to see our Youtube/twitter videos kick off more along with podcasts before we make that happen.

      1. I’m part of a gaming community called 2Bit Content. We have some pretty decent streamers, and it’s grown exponentially since launch. Perhaps they could help MP1st and vice versa.

  13. This may seem a little trivial and more of a QOL update but introducing a dark mode on the site would be amazing. Also maybe running a bi-weekly podcast with gaming news updates would be cool as well.

  14. Gaming session’s! Maybe do some live streams of games of things you can share. Reviews always bring people in!

    1. We got reviews incoming now that we have a dedicated reviewer, and I myself (though not the best writer) will be helping out on those.

      I will say if we do a gaming session thing I’d like to have competition with rewards from us.

  15. Probably add like a section of categories by game genre? I’m not sure if that would help out.

    1. There was an idea I’m gonna bring up to our management. Maybe not exactly by genre, but perhaps a way to filter out content for users here. For example, say you want to ignore specific news (anything Anthem related) or want to get pinged when a game you follow gets a post. Something of the sort. This won’t be for a while though, we have a lot of things in the works we want to get off the ground before the big changes happen.

  16. Hey guys, love your stuff! I think one thing I would love to see is quick consumption gaming news videos in the style of how Yahoo! does their quick stories. I think something easy to digest with relevant screen shots, clips, quotes, interviews, audio, etc. over on your YouTube channel would be great!

    1. I like this idea and will run some test pilot episodes sometimes in the future. We definitely hear everyone when they say they want our Youtube channel flowing and I myself want to help manage that.

    1. I will get on this more, was given access to the twitter account recently so expect it to be more lively rather than just “come visit our site for more info!”

I think the content on the site is great, the only thing I would like to see is more opportunities for interaction with the fans (maybe host a lobby on CoD, or some other game for fans) and a reduction in ads. I get the need for them, but they can trip some of these kids up since this post is about a giveaway the ads that its showing is telling you how to enter the contest but its not actually how to enter the contest its for something completely different. Also im on Twitter @L0rdMagnus it wont let me sign in on here for some reason. Anywho, keep up the great work!

  22. I would like to see more articles on the technical aspects of games like frame rates resolutions and polygon counts if you can do that. It for me would let me know what game or platform is more superior. And most of all more game reviews for a site who has great writers you should definitely do reviews.

    1. I’m working on some FPS based projects here, though don’t go in expecting anything like Digital Foundry. Those guys are on a whole other level!!

  23. Less copy and paste patch notes from Reddit. Less copying from Reddit posts overall and actual writing would be nice.

    1. I understand this all to well, but we and most media outlets know that Reddit is one handy site. I can’t promise less copy/paste but I’ll see about getting more of our input added to these posts so they aren’t just that.
      We don’t have a whole lot of staff here, in fact it’s mostly me and Alex. We have content in the works but also have a busy schedule so can only squeeze things out when we have the time. I’m hoping this changes in the next month or so as my free time clears up, and hopefully we can bring everyone more unique content.

  24. The site is dedicated to multiplayer games. I would like more coverage when it comes to the Pro-Gaming scene. E-sport needs to grow, from grassroots and also the established pro’s who already stream on twitch. Cover fighting games too, the FGC has a lot of potential and has tons of drama to write about.

    1. We try to cover Mortal Kombat at least
      We know fighting games are just as huge as any other franchises out there, they have as more history than most.
      Problem with them and E sport is that me and Alex know so little about them we don’t want to just jump in without knowledge. I have brought up the idea of covering e-sport related news and will bring it up again later this week with management.

  25. I think the coverage here is pretty good, not much needs changed or added, but more news on the eSports scene would be nice.

  26. Maybe adding some more “skill videos” (how to get better) for the main games like BF series and COD. Maybe some people on the level of Jackfrags could do exclusive articles. 🙂 Been here for a few years and saw the dip but it is getting back on track now. The main thing I didn’t like and think contributed to the dip was the comments got way too nasty so I would suggest if that were to start happening again to cut it off at the legs before it would get worse. 🙂 Cheers

  27. Some articles or videos with general tips to be better at games. Explaining what one can do to be skilfully better. Lot of younger players i come by that dont have much fun cause they dont feel theyre good enough and ask me or others for tips. Yall can spread your market that way and gain more traffic to the sight.

Maybe do a series on MP games that have Custom games available and a review on all the settings that can be changed for matches in the particular games rating them based on options and features. Just try to bring awareness to the mode. And as someone else suggested, game nights within Customs and videos of the night uploaded to site.

  29. I think that after skimming through the site for a couple of hours could use some more articles that include tips, some more esports news, and maybe some fun facts about the development of new games. Really hope i can get one of those codes!!!

  30. Like others have said before. I’m all for reviews and opinions on upcoming games. I usually use YouTube for that but I feel too many YouTubers are bought out by publishers. For example the upcoming ghost recon and the whole numbered gear system. Love opinions. Found your site through gamify app a few days back. I started reading instead of watching YouTube for game news and your site is pretty cool. But yeah, reviews and opinions. Hope to see you on the modern battlefield.

    maybe a few more articles for newbies really getting into gaming , like some game suggestion’s and tips to help improve your skills in whatever game type you like ranging from mmo- fps.Other than that id say maybe more giveaways and ways for us to interact with each other as community like maybe some friendly competitions matches on certain games.

  41. One recommendation I would definitely give you is to make some YouTube comment. Other gaming journalists like to make a YouTube video touching on someone the main points of an article while providing some visuals/audio to go along with it. This adds another level of interactivity and is huge for some people who may just skim of over articles without really appreciating the work done. Really like the amount of engagement I see in the comments, please continue to do so. Fingers crossed on that code. ?

  46. I’ve been coming here for quite sometime. Your site seems to cover most bases. I would like maybe more footage of gameplay to go with news. Maybe set up times to play with fans. I think that would be awesome. Super hyped for Modern Warfare. Hopefully DICE can rebound, and announce something in the works.

So I think that you guys should start posting more gameplay so that that way viewers can get a better feel for what they’re reading about, also I think that you guys should try to cover more subjects that are popular that way some people can find good information on the going topic that they want to know more about
