Call of Duty: Modern Warfare New Game Engine Took Over 5 Years to Develop, Infinity Ward Sets Up Studio in Poland Just for It

We’ve already mentioned how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 was going to feature a brand new engine that’s technically more capable than what the COD studios has been using all these years. Activision just posted a full feature highlighting this Modern Warfare new game engine, and while there’s a lot of technical stuff discussed, there were also nuggets of info that fans might be curious about.

Remember, Infinity Ward was adamant in pointing out that the reveal trailer was 100 percent gameplay, with “no magic, no trickery.”

According to Activision, an entirely new Infinity Ward tech studio was created in Poland just for this Modern Warfare new game engine, and “to bring this vision to fruition.” Not only that, but it seems the studio has been working on it since the start of this generation, as Infinity Ward Poland studio boss Michael Drobot comments that this took over five years to develop.
