Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Customization to Be “Realistic and Relevant” Says Infinity Ward

modern warfare campaign reveal trailer

If you’e one of the many people curious as to how Infinity Ward will handle customization in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it seems the studio is opting for something grounded compared to past Call of Duty titles. Over on the Modern Warfare subreddit, user Zerogws posted a thread titled “Please do not have pink, rainbow, glowing, random unrealistic skins for our character,” which of course, pertains to Modern Warfare customization.

Fortunately for us, Infinity Ward Studio Art Director Joel Emslie chimed in and replied that Modern Warfare customization will be “realistic and relevant.”

Does this mean we won’t get gold gun camos? We probably will since it’s a franchise staple for over a decade now. Of course, I gather, Emslie pis pertaining to character skins more than anything else. If you’re looking for a clown Operator skin, or something goofy like we’re used to in Treyarch’s Call of Duty titles, then you might just be out of luck this time. But then again, who knows, right? Maybe we’ll see something post-launch released that’s not exactly realistic.

In other Modern Warfare news, Infinity Ward confirmed that an in-game watch will be worn by the characters in the game, and it will tel the actual time.  It’s also been confirmed that we’ll see female character models in the game’s multiplayer as well, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone at this day and age.

Make sure to keep an eye out here on MP1st, as there’s going to be a lot of Modern Warfare news dropping this week with the official multiplayer reveal happening on August 1.
