It’s no secret by now that those who pre-order Call of Duty Vanguard on PlayStation platforms will be able to play the early access beta, regardless if you pre-ordered the PS4 or PS5 version. However, it seems that for those looking foward to the Vanguard PS5 beta, you might want to temper expectations on the graphics and whatnot, as you’ll be using the PS4 game version during the early access period.
This was mentioned in the Call of Duty Vanguard pre-order page if you click the the PlayStation version:
As you can see, it mentions “Early Access to the Open Beta, first on PlayStation 4.” In case you think it’s a typo, here’s a look at the Xbox version’s pre-order table:
As you can see, it doesn’t mention the Xbox One version at all when it comes to beta early access. We don’t know for now whether this means that a PS5 Vanguard beta client will be rolled out by Activision in time for the regular open beta or not.
Fortunately, chances are, most Call of Duty players are going to jump into the beta to experience the gunplay, progression system, maps and the like, so not being able to play the PS5 version might not be a problem for most.
For the rest of the stuff you can get for pre-ordering COD Vanguard, head on over here.
Call of Duty Vanguard will be released this November 5 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Thanks, ModernWarzone!
Nah Modern Warzone has got this wrong, there is no standard edition for PS5, the cross gen is the PS5 version. I think this is were the confusion is coming from, if you order the cross gen there will be a PS5 version of the beta.
Exactly.. That’s what I understand by reading the details in the picture.. I think the writer of this article just wanted to spice things up.. Lolzz
Well you could buy the physical standard edition for ps5, which isn’t the crossgen bundle despite costing the same.
It’s exactly what they did with Cold War, making the cross gen a digital exclusive with a purchasable upgrade iirc for physical owners
False news, i checked on my PS5, it is native PS5 app.
The beta isn’t even live yet…
The alpha is, which has been confirmed to have a native ps5 app
