Valve sprung a pleasant surprise today, as Counter-Strike 2 is now available on Steam for free starting today! Yes, the sequel to one of the most influential and most popular shooters of all-time has just been stealth dropped this September 27!

A free upgrade to CS:GO, Counter-Strike 2 marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter and the largest technical leap in Counter-Strike’s history. Built on the Source 2 engine, Counter-Strike 2 is modernized with realistic physically-based rendering, state of the art networking, upgraded Community Workshop tools, and more.
