CS:GO Concurrent Player Count Reaches All-Time High Yet Again at Over 1.5 Million

csgo concurrent player count

Despite being over a decade old, popular multiplayer FPS game Counter-Strike:Global Offensive has reached a concurrent player all-time high yet again. The latest record of CS:GO’s concurrent player count has reached a grand total of over 1,533,939 players.

The record-breaking number currently shows on SteamCharts and is also today’s highest concurrent player count as of writing.

You can find the link to the SteamCharts page here.

For reference, CS:GO broke a previous concurrent player count record earlier this February to the tune of 1,320,219 players. This means that in the span of just a few months, the number has ballooned by over a whopping 200,000 concurrent players, which is definitely impressive given the game’s decade-old status.

Interestingly, it’s worth noting that the concurrent player count increased following the announcement of Counter-Strike 2, which occurred on March 22. It’s possible that both new players and returning veterans are playing CS:GO to hone their skills before CS2’s launch in Summer 2023, or they simply want to play the game a bit more before it gets outshined by the upcoming Counter-Strike title.

As the player count is steadily rising, it’s highly possible that the concurrent player count will continue to rise from here on out. Even if it doesn’t, getting over 1.5 million people to play a game at once is no small feat, and it will be interesting to see how CS2’s concurrent player count fares once the game launches later this year.
