Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty to Be Showcased at Summer Game Fest Play Days

CD Projekt Red has revealed during its Q1 2023 earnings call today that Cyberpunk 2077‘s Phantom Liberty expansion will be showcased at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest: Play Days in early June. The developer did not comment on whether or not a release date would be revealed then.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty was first announced last September as a next gen-only expansion for the title that features a returning Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, and stars Idris Elba as FIA agent Solomon Reed. The expansion will see V involved in the conflicts of the Pacifica Combat Zone, and take players to a brand-new area in Night City.

The expansion officially only has a 2023 release window, and a specific release date has not been revealed as of yet. CDPR’s Q1 2023 earnings presentation revealed that the expansion will feature at Summer Game Fest’s Play Days. For those unaware, Play Days is a special invite-only preview event for media and influencers that will take place in Los Angeles after the main June 8 showcase. It is pertinent to mention that Phantom Liberty has recently been rumored to have a June 8, 2023 release date, so the presence at Play Days may well be the release announcement.

For now, those interested can check out the latest Phantom Liberty teaser here.

I still have Cyberpunk 2077, but i pretty much gave up on it as far as certain features are concerned. Like the dev’s actually adding NG+ and increase the level cap, once i completed the campaign and the majority of side content.
