Zombie-survival MMO DayZ reaches yet another milestone: 1 million early access copies sold in four weeks.
The news comes from creator Dean “Rocket” Hall’s Twitter account, where he writes, “Well, 1 million copies in 4 weeks. So much for the death of PC Gaming.”
Bohemia Interactive, the studio behind the standalone version of the popular Arma 2 mod, has been on a hot streak of noteworthy milestones. The game sold 150,000 early access copies within its first 24 hours of release, then nearly 800,000 in under a month, and now 1 million four weeks after its release last December 16.
Earlier, Hall noted the sales numbers were “completely unexpected” and that the game’s early success would have a “very positive” influence on its development.
We expect to hear more news about upcoming DayZ updates in the near future, so be sure to keep your sights on MP1st.
