D&D Dark Alliance Local Co-Op Coming to PS5, XSX, PC This Summer, Can Be Played Offline

Dark Alliance Update 1.05

For those who like slaying monsters with friends, a new Dungeons & Dragons game is coming out later this month in Dark Alliance. While the game seems to focus on the multiplayer aspect, some might be wondering whether there’s “couch co-op” (local co-op) in the game or if it’s entirely online only. Speaking to MP1st, Tuque Games confirmed that Dark Alliance local co-op is indeed coming this summer — at least for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC!

In an interview with MP1st,  François Champagne, Lead Mission Designer at Tuque Games, mentioned that local co-op is planned for release this summer when the first free DLC drops, and the studio is still “investigating” on bringing to PS4, Xbox One..

MP1st: We know there’s no local co-op, but can people play in a party solo with the team members controlled by AI?

The is no friendly AI in Dark Alliance but we will be bringing two-player couch co-op to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC hopefully with the first free DLC this summer. We’re investigating how to support two-player couch co-op on PS4 and Xbox One after that.

In the same interview, Champagne confirmed that the game can be played and completed offline.

MP1st: Will the game always need to be online?

No, the game doesn’t always need to be online. It is possible to play offline and complete the entire game in solo mode.

Speaking of DLC, you can check out the post-launch plans for Dark Alliance here.

Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance will slash its way out this June 22 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned to our review hitting the site soon!
