Dead Space Improvements & Story Changes Discussed by Devs, New Screenshots Crawl Out

Dead Space fans get ready for an onslaught of new information, as the Dead Space developers talk about improvements to the game,  and tease some of the story changes incoming as well — promising a new experience for next-gen systems and PC for the upcoming remake.

Presented by Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos, Motive Studios is developing the Dead Space Remake, and looking to add new details and elements that generally improve the entire experience of the game. For starters, the new Frostbite engine will lead the charge in making the game look more graphically impressive — with lighting, atmosphere, and ambience around the USS Ishimura improved as well as VFX and audio for the game.

Isaac Clarke will also sport improvements as well, as he has new and improved armor and combat abilities to show for it. Shooting with the plasma cutter and using kinesis will be given more emphasis and detail, and the Necromorphs will show more layers of damage and gore as well. Zero G gravity is also going to get an overhaul, with Isaac taking advantage of different methods to get around a puzzle and fly around without gravity.

As teased by the developers. story will also expand the universe and add world building, with more answers about what happened to Earth and Isaac’s girlfriend Nicole during the events of the game. Gunner Wright reprises his role as the voice of Isaac Clarke in the Dead Space Remake. That should definitely hype up fans of the series!

Dead Space will be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2022.
