Fans of both franchises have long been theorizing that the new time loop adventure Deathloop is set in the Dishonored universe. Dinga Babaka finally confirmed the theory on the Xbox Podcast, and revealed additional connections hidden in Deathloop:

We envisioned Deathloop to be happening in the future after Death of the Outsider. […] There are a lot of clues, actually, in the game. There are some that are abused. One of them is really spoiler-y.

We have a shotgun that’s called the Heritage Rifle. […] It’s from the “Imperial Armories,” but actually, on the side there is a little logo that you can barely see. But now that we’ve added idle breaks where the character plays with his guns, you can actually see that the logo is Dunwall Tower.

So there are a lot of little things like that. We meet a character talking about a concept that is very unique to the Dishonored world. […] We tried to see everything as an evolution, but each time they (the game’s characters) mentioned the past, either we were vague enough or we disguised the names in natural ways. (For example:) they talk about the motherland and not about Tyvia, but […] once you know, you can unravel everything.

It’s interesting to note that Babaka did not confirm whether the Outsider was canonically freed or killed at the end of Death of the Outsider, or what connection the Void from Dishonored has with Deathloop’s supernatural elements.
