Destiny 2 Bungie Day Details

Fishing Derby

For the first time ever, Destiny 2 will be hosting a fishing derby that will let players compete for the most catches within a given time frame. Here are the details for all fishing derbies throughout the day:

Top scorers from each derby will be highlighted in next week’s This Week in Destiny post as well as receive a digital prize pack featuring the following items:

  • Heartful Shell Exotic Ghost, fully equipped with heart bubbles galore.
  • Blue Blood Cells, this year’s Bungie Day Giving Festival emblem.
  • Helium Hearts, give your bestie something to lift their spirits.
  • Bungie Day emblem bundle. Every Bungie Day emblem released over the past five years.

If a player wins multiple derbies, then the next highest scorer will be rewarded instead, guaranteeing that enough players receive the goodies. Here’s the scoring system for the fishing derbies, if you need a reference:

  • Junk = 0 points
  • Uncommon = 1 point
  • Rare = 2 points
  • Legendary = 5 points
  • Exotic = 20 points

Reputation Boost and Bungie Store Sale

Aside from the fishing derby, players will be rewarded with increased reputation gains from Vanguard, Gambit, and Crucible playlists. This increased gain took effect last July 4 and will last for a week until July 11, so you’ll have plenty to do before and after the fishing derbies.

Then, there’s the Bungie Store sale, which will not only feature discounts on various Destiny 2-themed merchandise, but will also include new items such as a Bungie Day pin set, a pre-order for “Destiny Grimoire Anthology Volume VI: Partners in Light,” collectibles, and apparel. There will also be a Retired Rewards Restock event that will give players a chance to buy returning products for players who have completed achievements in-game.

Bungie Day Giving Festival

The Bungie Day Giving Festival is back, with the event running from July 6 to 23. The charity event will allow players to donate to charities such as the Little Lights program, Direct Relief, and College Success Foundation, with prizes such as an Exotic Ghost Chell, an emblem bundle, a Marathon T-Shirt, and other goodies. You can read more about that in a dedicated article here.

Artistically-inclined Guardians are also encouraged to participate in the global emblem competition for Destiny 2, with the chance of having your art featured in-game. More details on that can be found here.

With plenty to do tomorrow and in the coming weeks, what are your plans for Bungie Day? Let us know in the comments!
