Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid Launches Today – Contest Mode Detailed

Destiny 2 Update 3.17

Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid is upon us as it launches later today. The community loved to play this raid in the original, but will it be as easy as it was in Destiny 1?Well, we will just have to wait and find out.

The details on contest mode have also been revealed, and not a lot has changed. If you are looking to make your mark in the Destiny universe and become the world’s first to clear the new raid, then you will need to complete the following:

  • Contest Mode will be enabled for 48 hours

  • Guardians will need to be at least Power Level 1790 for all encounters

  • Clearing the raid with Contest Mode active is how a fireteam unlocks Challenge Mode in the Director and the Superior Swordplay Triumph, which is a curated list of challenges that can only be completed in Challenge Mode

  • Completing the Superior Swordplay Triumph will be how a fireteam can claim the World First title

    • All six members of the winning fireteam will receive World First title belts
  • To enforce the Triumph requirements in Challenge Mode, each fireteam will wipe if they fail the success conditions during any encounter

Even if you are unable to win the world’s first raid challenge, there is still an incentive to try and complete the raid in the first 48 hours. Whoever completes the raid within two days of launch and get the “Bottomless Pit” quest from the raid vendor, will get all the rewards attached to the quest including the new Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle immediately.

If you are unable to complete the raid in contest mode (48 Hours), then you will need to complete all the steps of the “Bottomless Pit” quest in order get this rifle and other rewards attached to the quest.

Not being able to complete the raid in two days? no problem. There are still raid-themed rewards that you can purchase through Bungie Rewards if you manage to complete the raid before the following deadlines.

  1. Raid ring – September 12
  2. Raid pin – November 28
  3. Raid poster – November 28
  4. Swordbearer title pin – November 28

Pre-orders for Destiny 2: The Final Shape have also been opened. As a bonus for pre-ordering, you will get Tessellation Exotic Fusion Rifle, Exotic emote, Exotic Ghost, and expansion emblem.

Just like previous Destiny 1 raids that made their way to the new iteration, Destiny 2 Crota’s End Raid will also be available to all players free of cost.
