Following the tragic news of Lance Reddick’s sudden passing, Destiny 2 players have decided to honor the renowned actor by paying a visit to Commander Zavala, the NPC that Reddick voiced in the Destiny games.
Commander Zavala is a major character in the Destiny storyline, serving as the Vanguard of the Titan class. He appears in many cutscenes and is present in much of Destiny’s plot, which made players very familiar with Zavala and, in turn, Lance Reddick’s voice.
Many Destiny 2 players have showcased their visits to The Last City in honor of Reddick. Here are a couple of posts on Twitter:
He will be missed…we shall bring peace to humanity and their allies and bring down the Witness in his name… pic.twitter.com/ttOoaXfaqs

Just went into Destiny 2, and, yeah, players are gathered around Commander Zavala, paying tribute to his actor, the late Lance Reddick
Really touching.

Reddick was an avid fan of the Destiny franchise. Having been involved with the franchise since the first game, he’s played quite a bit of the looter shooter FPS, though as a Warlock main instead of a Titan like his character, Zavala. Outside of Destiny 2, he also played Sylens in the Horizon games and is known as Charon from the John Wick movies. His professional career as an actor spanned decades in total.
While Destiny 2 players can’t pay respects to Lance Reddick in person, it’s heartwarming to see so many come out and pay tribute to the actor in one of his most iconic roles.
