As the Guardians lose the support of Savathun, they gain a new odd ally with the reveal of the Destiny 2 Season of the Risen trailer! This new teaser shows the Vanguard teaming up with Empress Caiatl’s faction of the Cabal in order to stop Savathun and her Lucent Brood from wreaking havoc with their newfound powers of the Light. It also appears that they will be quite active in combat beside you as well. Caiatl mentions in the Destiny 2 Season of the Risen trailer that Psions will actively assist you as you weaken the Lucent Brood. Given that the enemies now wield the powers of the Light, it seems only prudent that the Guardains now find allies in different places; first from the Darkness, now from what was once humanity’s worst enemies: the Cabal.
