Dragon Ball FighterZ Major Balance Update Announced; Super Saiyan 4 DAIMA Goku Coming Spring 2026
It’s been over 8 months since the last Dragon Ball FighterZ update, with a majority of the community thinking that Arc System Works were “finished” with the game as they shifted their focus to Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue, and soon, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Well, it seems that’s not entirely the case, as they’ve just come out of the woodwork with a surprise announcement for Dragon Ball FighterZ concerning what’s next for the game.
Fans can look forward to a new major balance update, arriving tomorrow for Dragon Ball FighterZ. But it’s 2026 that is looking to bring the game’s biggest addition, as a new fighter is joining the roster.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is Powering Up to Super Saiyan 4 Next Year
As announced at EVO France 2025, a new balance update for Dragon Ball FighterZ is going live tomorrow, October 12, 2025. Full patch notes for the balancing adjustments will be live soon, so stay tuned.
As exciting as a surprise update may be, that’s not the only thing that Arc System Works had for us, as the news is also accompanied by the reveal of Super Saiyan 4 (DIAMA) Goku. Nope, you aren’t reading that wrong, the new Super Saiyan 4 rendition that debuted during the DIAMA series is coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ! He’s set to arrive in the Spring of 2026.
This feels so out of left field, considering how support for the game has basically been done. Sure, we’ve gotten a few updates here and there, but the last one was over 8 months ago. To make it even more surprising, the last DLC character we got, Android 21 (Lab Coat), was released in 2022. That means by the time Super Saiyan 4 (DAIMA) Goku releases, it would have been four whole years since the last character.
We hope this means Arc System Works is planning a bigger return, rather than a one-off character, as there are plenty of new characters they can bring to the game. DIAMA introduced many of them, but there are still Super characters, such as Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo, Gamma 1, Gamma 2, Cell Max, and so many others.
There’s definitely a full new fighter pass’s worth of characters to be added, so fingers crossed that things don’t end with SSJ4 (DAIMA) Goku.
