Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mod Already Makes Microtransactions Obsolete on PC

To the absolute surprise of no one, mods have already been starting to release for Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 just a mere day after its release, which renders the whole microtransaction debacle on the PC version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 quite irrelevant.

While I did write yesterday about all the misinformation going around about the microtransactions in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and about how nothing is locked behind a paywall, it seems that modders were already hard at work at breaking the game, testing out what can be broken and such. One of those mods is centered around items that Capcom is selling for real-life money.

Dubbed the “Fast Travel Pack,” this mod adds nearly unlimited items to the first shop you encounter in the game, Melve. The items in question are tied to rare resource items you can get free in the game, though they are limited in number. They’re also items being sold for real money on storefronts that everyone is currently upset over.

These include Elite & Explorer Camp Kit, Wakestones, Rift Crystals, and Farrystones, with the first shop having 999 of each available to purchase with in-game currency (not real money). You’ll still need to get gold, so unless you cheat, this mod doesn’t break as much as you might think; it just makes things more accessible and easier.

The mod is currently available on Nexusmods, though it warns players that all mods should be uninstalled first, then you should buy what you want and then uninstall it afterward.

Of course, using mods may come with the potential risk of being banned from Dragon’s Dogma 2 online. To be fair, the online is mostly for recruiting pawns created by other players, with a large batch still being available offline. So you wouldn’t lose much, as there is no PvP (player vs. player) combat or any cooperative play.

Another mod, “Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis,” is also available on Nexusmods. This mod gives you unlimited access to modify your character as you please.

With these mods, you’ll never ever have to worry about running out of the items above, or get tempted to purchase any microtransactions.

LMFAO only a brain dead imbecile would actually buy those microtransactions….OR a pathetic garbage player….The game already gives you 5 Riftstones on top of the 3 free ones at certain points, you actually have to go to the location you want to place the Riftstone. There are merchants who sell the character change “spell” for 500 gold…

It is hilarious watching imbeciles lose their minds over the most worthless, pointless MTX. Its even more hilarious when its imbeciles who only cry about it in certain games but play other games that are buried in the same kind of worthless, pointless MTX.

Those are hypocrites but regarding this game, if they are useless then why are they even there?! Why does this singleplayer game that costs 70 bucks and runs like crap have MTXs to begin with?

That’s the problem with trying to defend this. If they are useless then why are they there? If they are not useless, then the game was altered to entice people to buy them. And this goes for all single player games.

I believe MTXs have their place but not here and I am so sick of people not understanding the impact it has on games. This industry has gotten only worse because of it and there is no denying that.
