E3 2023 Confirmed by ESA; Will Feature Both Physical & Digital Events

Following up on the news that E3 2022 has been fully cancelled, organizer ESA has now revealed that they will be back for E3 2023, and it will be available for both physical and digital events. This should be great news for those who were looking forward to exciting game announcements via the event this year, and should also give ESA the needed prep time for the return of E3.

The report comes from Stephen Totilo of Axios, who revealed the letter from the ESA regarding E3 2023. It reads as such:

E3 will return in 2023 with a reinvigorated showcase that celebrates nwe and exciting video games and industry innovations.

We previously annouunced that E3 would not be held in person in 2022 due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19. Today, we announce that there will also be no digital E3 showcase in 2022.

Instead, we will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summr. Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favorite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new format and interactive experience.

We look forward to presenting E3 to fans around the world live from Los Angeles in 2023.

There you have it. It also looks like E3 will undergo a major revamp, as the ESA teased an “all-new format” for the event. As The Game Awards and other yearly gaming events slowly gain more traction, it makes sense that E3 try and revitalize itself in order to be competitive as the foremost yearly gaming event.
