Elden Ring Sales Reach 20.5 Million Units Sold; Bandai Namco Expecting Rebound in Sales This Year

Elden Ring sales

Elden Ring, the popular open-world soulslike RPG from FromSoftware, has sold over 20.5 million copies, according to report by Bandai Namco. The Elden Ring sales figure was revealed in the publisher’s most recent fiscal year financial report.

Here’s the full quote taken from the presentation of the report, translated via DeepL:

In the digital business, unit sales of repeat titles for home video games totaled 34.73 million units in FY2022, compared to 30.94 million units in FY2021. As for “ELDEN RING,” cumulative worldwide unit sales totaled 20.5 million units. New worldwide titles got off to a slightly slow start, but several new small- and medium-sized titles enjoyed stable sales.

It’s also worth noting that the company expects rebound sales for Elden Ring, likely due to the upcoming DLC in Shadow of the Erdtree.

We expect a rebound in repeat sales of “ELDEN RING,” which made a large contribution in the previous year. As for new titles, we expect to launch more major titles for both home video games and PC games, including a new “ARMORED CORE” title and a new “NARUTO” title.

Elden Ring actually reached 20 million copies sold back in February, with the official Elden Ring Twitter account making the announcement. For reference, the 20.5 million figure came from the fiscal year report ending on March 31, 2023.

With Shadow of the Erdtree launching sometime this year, Elden Ring’s sales may experience the sales boost that Bandai Namco is predicting.
