Evil Dead: The Game New Content Development Ceased; Switch Version Cancelled

New Content for Evil Dead The Game switch cancelled

Though its servers will remain active, Saber Interactive today announced that they are halting development of Evil Dead: The Game new content while also confirming the cancellation of the Switch Version.

In a statement issued on the game’s official X account, Saber Interactive has confirmed that Evil Dead: The Game will no longer receive any new content drop. This news is accompanied by the cancellation of the Switch Version.

As for the online servers themselves, the studio did say that they would remain open for the “foreseeable” future, with the team still addressing any major issues via patches.

“To the Evil Dead: The Game Community,

Today, we have made the decision not to pursue the development of new content for Evil Dead: The Game. We also confirm that we will not be releasing a Nintendo Switch version of the game.

We will keep the servers up for the foreseeable future and address any major issues that arise.

On behalf of the entire team at Saber, thank you for all the groovy times and your continued support.”

Evil Dead: The Game launched in June of 2022 and opened up to mixed reviews, though like the movie and TV series, it seemed to have garnered a following. However, as the months passed, players began to worry about the game’s future, as support seemingly began to slow down.

We suppose many in the community could see this coming, but nonetheless, it saddens us to see content support ending. And while they’ll remain active for now, it’ll only be a matter of time before the servers close themselves.
