Extended Forza Motorsport Gameplay Shows Off First Few Tracks; Details Listed

Forza Motorsport Gameplay

If you’ve been itching to get back behind the wheel of a tight new racing game, Turn 10 Studios has you covered. Just last month, the racing game studio showed off some of the new tracks coming to the latest Forza game. Today, in a lengthy new Forza Motorsport Gameplay video, we got a chance to see the first few races of the upcoming racing sim.

The video clocks in at just under twenty minutes, and there’s plenty to see, so take a look below:

If you’re not feeling up to watching the entire video, here’s a breakdown of some of the things we saw:

Gameplay Features

  • Impressive Graphics – For starters, this game looks gorgeous. Turn 10 has been using the ForzaTech engine since Forza Motorsport 6, and it’s clearly been updated for the latest generation. The lighting, textures, and environments are sure to help players feel immersed in each race.
  • Location, Location, Location – We got a look at three different courses throughout this video: Maple Valley Raceway (a Forza staple set in New Hampshire), Circuit Hakone (a new racetrack set in Japan), and Grand Oak Raceway (another brand-new track made just for this game). Each of these is full of fun twists and turns.
  • Flashy Fast Cars – We also got to see gameplay of a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray and a 2023 Cadillac V-Series.R, as well as a 2018 Honda Civic Type R. They’re all beautifully represented in high definition here, and they look and sound fantastic.
  • Character Customization – There was a little bit of racer customization footage in the video as well. It looks pretty par for the course for these games; you can pick body type and racing suit color. Presumably, you won’t be spending much time looking at your racer, so this isn’t all that important.
  • Immersive Features – For longer races, the game allows you to adjust your fuel load and pick harder or softer tires in order to match your racing strategy and adjust for whatever given track you might be racing on. While we didn’t get a look at the difficulty settings menu, previous Forza Motorsport games have allowed players to decide just how arcade-y they want their car to feel, so expect to see similar options in the newest entry.

All in all, this Forza Motorsport gameplay shows that the game is shaping up to be just as entertaining as the previous entries in the series. While the always-online Career Mode is a little disappointing, it’s hard to deny that the tracks, cars, features, and graphics all look very impressive. If Xbox is able to follow up their record-breaking Starfield numbers with another successful game, they’ll be in a pretty good spot for the end of the year.

The game is available for pre-order now. Players who pre-order the Premium Edition can get up to five days of early access.

Forza Motorsport releases on October 10, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
