After much anticipation, Square has announced that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo download is finally live on the PlayStation 4!
The demo weighs in at 7.5GB, and as early leaks indicated the demo will feature the game’s first chapter, the Bomber mission. It’s a pretty lengthy segment, and it took us roughly 40 minutes to beat.
The demo shows off the new battle system introduced in the remake, though if you are a fan of a more strategic approach rather than action, there is a “classic” mode available in the demo that is said to offer a similar experience to the original Final Fantasy 7.
“In this mode, the characters will attack automatically, so you can focus on giving them commands – similar to command-based RPGs like the original FINAL FANTASY VII.”
You can download the demo by either searching for it on The PlayStation store via the PlayStation 4 console, accessing the demo section of the PlayStation Store, or by using the link to the browser page below.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is releasing for the PlayStation 4 on April 10 after being delayed a month. The title is set to be released on other platforms, though it’s currently unconfirmed whether that would be PC or on the Xbox. We will hear more about that most likely later in the year.
