Joseph Staten, former creative lead for Halo Infinite and writer for other titles such as Halo 3: ODST and Destiny, has announced that he will be joining Netflix Games to work on the studio’s AAA title, which is set to be multiplatform and feature an original IP.

Staten made the announcement via his Twitter account:

Netflix Games AAA title was actually discovered via a series of job listings that were available back in November of last year (via TechCrunch). The listings aimed to hire talent that would work on “a brand-new AAA PC game.” Given that AAA titles are costly investments, it’s likely that Staten is working on the very same AAA title. Staten also revealed in his announcement that the game will be available on more than one platform, whereas the original listings cited it as being a PC title.
As listings for the AAA title were fairly recent, it’s unlikely that we’ll be getting any information regarding its IP or what sort of game it will be. In the meantime, consider checking out our review for Halo Infinite, Staten’s most recent major project. Here’s a snippet:
All in all, Halo Infinite is a worthy entry to this legendary franchise. That is an achievement by itself. But what I really appreciated is the fact that 343 took risks. These risks are things that could have completely soured the experience and turned away even the most diehard fans of the franchise. In the end though, those risks paid off. Infinite is in my opinion, 343’s best Halo title yet, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes from here.
