Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarok was expected to be popular on release, but few could have expected the action RPG to amass over five million sales so quickly. In a tweet via PlayStation, the game managed to sell 5.1 million copies as of its debut week, making it one of the most successful God of War game releases in the franchise’s history.

For a series that’s been running since 2005, God of War Ragnarok’s sales milestone is a feat that is nothing short of impressive. What’s even more impressive is that this makes the game the fastest-selling first-party launch game in PlayStation history, which is no small feat.
