Sony revealed a never-before-seen first look at the announced Gran Turismo movie. The sneak peek showcased some of the movie’s star-studded cast as well as very brief snippets of the film.

The sneak peek was revealed during Sony’s Consumer Electrics Show (CES) 2023 press conference. Check it out:

The film follows the real-life story of Jann Mardenborough, a professional racer with humble beginnings as a teen who played Gran Turismo. Mardenborough will be played by Archie Madekwe (Midsommar, See) and will be joined by well-known actors Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) and David Harbour (Stranger Things, Quantum of Solace).

The sneak peek reveals that the Gran Turismo movie will have a little bit of everything, containing romance, action, and of course, racing. The film will also be made for cinema, with camera angles that make you feel immersed in the movie and sound that’s designed for theaters.

The Gran Turismo franchise has been on a little bit of a hot streak as of late. It got the digitally-designed Ferrari Vision GT concept car last November, and the franchise itself celebrated its 25th anniversary a couple of weeks ago. Sony also announced that Gran Turismo 7 would join various other games as part of the PlayStation VR2’s launch titles with a free upgrade.

The Gran Turismo movie is set to premiere on August 11 in theaters only.
