GTA 6 Activities

Safe to say that Grand Theft Auto 6 is probably the most anticipated game release of all-time, given. Naturally, anything and everything about the title will be gobbled up by fans everywhere.

The latest issue of Game Informer has GTA 6 as the cover story game, and that means scads of info has been shared by Rockstar.

For starters, we have confirmation that there will be 170 animal species types in the game, and we also have our first info regarding the weather system too.

GTA 6 Side Activities Will Possibly Distract You From the Main Objective

Some of the activities players can do outside of the story campaign include:

• bungee jumping
• billiards
• gyms
• kayaking
• mini-golf
• diving
• street and off-road racing
• zoos
• airboat rides
• jet skis

Over 170 In-Game Wildlife

Per the Game Informer article: “GTAVI features over 170 animal species across the map, which include Leonida-native species that have never appeared in a Rockstar game. This includes over 60 bird types, more than 30 land mammals, plus various fish, reptiles, and more. Rockstar vice president of dynamic art, Michael Kane, specifically confirms the inclusion of manatees, flamingos, pelicans, and, as previously shown, alligators. Kane confirms players will encounter different shark species, whales, rays, turtles, and jellyfish, which all have distinct movement behaviors. Leveraging Rockstar’s work on the Red Dead Redemption series, animals will even display iridescence, bioluminescence, translucency, and feather types, plus new hair and fur systems for coats and pelts. Furthermore, fur is fully simulated and set up for “human-to-animal interaction with dirt matting and clumping in environmental contexts, including getting wet, as well as color and coat variations.”

NPC Variety Will Have Unprecedented Level of Detail

“Rockstar crafted Leonida’s citizens with an unprecedented level of detail and nuance. NPCs now vary in height and have different body types with specific differences in areas such as musculature, local weight gain in chests/busts, stomachs, and, yes, butts. Different skin types are also represented, with details such as freckles, moles, and tanning now evident. Kane adds that Rockstar also “paid a crazy amount of attention” to making culturally correct tattoo styles that fit Leonida’s diverse communities and regions. Hair and body grooming will also have better visual representation featuring far more ethnic styles.”

GTA 6’s Weather System Will Feature Hurricanes

Much like in real life, expect hurricanes! Game Informer’s piece had Rockstar mention, “We have re-engineered our weather system to make everything much more localized and persistent, and really wanted the world to feel dynamically solid and achieve a sense of scale we haven’t felt before,” Shepherd says. “The world features new fully dynamic cloudscapes that roll across the map, these give us a broad spectrum of weather from the clear blue skies of a Miami winter to the vertiginous cumulonimbus clouds with sporadic lightning that you see most afternoons in the Floridian summer and autumn.”

Adding to that, “An updated wind system includes “offshore breezes after sunset, convectional updrafts, and occlusion from buildings,” according to Shepherd. “Hair and debris will swirl around on roof-tops; gusts of wind will blow ripples over the water surface and bend the grass in swamps.

And yes, Leonida will indeed experience tropical storms and hurricanes. Although Shepherd doesn’t share how often these major storms occur and how gameplay or the story will be impacted, he paints a picture of how they will be depicted, saying that “heavy clouds, strong winds, dense atmospherics, and a lot of rain combine so that everything is dripping wet, water is gushing off roof edges and lampposts, thunder rumbles and flashes of lightning light up the clouds dramatically.”

Map and RydeMe App Info

More info about the map, how there is a RydeMe ride-sharing app in the game, and more have been shared too (check it via ImpressiveJicama7141):

Leonida will be the largest map in Rockstar history — approximately twice the size of the GTA V world.
• At the same time, the map will be noticeably denser, more detailed, and more interactive.
• Rockstar is working not only on the main districts but also on rooftops, alleys, building interiors, and the spaces in between.
• GTA VI will feature a huge number of interiors — buildings are being made to look realistic both on the outside and inside.
• The world is being created as a single, connected space, without the feeling of separate, isolated zones.
• According to Rockstar, the high density of content will be combined with the manual detailing of the entire map.

• When either of the main protagonists is caught, the familiar BUSTED screen will appear.
• Outside of the cities, there will be swamps, beaches, abandoned tourist attractions, industrial zones, rural areas, ATV routes, and mud parks.
• The game will feature fishing.
• Rockstar recommends playing GTA VI multiple times — player decisions can significantly change the story’s development.
• Through the RydeMe app, you can travel around the city via ridesharing. During the ride, you will be allowed to chat with passengers, listen to music, and browse social media.
• The weather can vary across different parts of the map: while it is sunny in one district, a storm may be raging in another.
• Animals will be divided into categories — common, rare, and legendary.

In related news, the Collector’s Edition of GTA 6 has been revealed recently, and people are already scalping it even if there’s still stock left.

GTA 6 releases November 19 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
