GTA 6 Platforms Confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series, But Not PC

GTA 6 PC Version

After having its trailer leak, Rockstar Games has officially announced Grand Theft Auto 6 today rather than the original plan for tomorrow. While the trailer had much to show, one thing was absent: the mention of platforms. Well, we now have the answer, as the studio has confirmed that it’ll be available on both the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. As for PC gamers, it looks like GTA 6 will be skipping out on the platform, at least for now.

In a press release sent to us, Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA 6 will be released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2025. Here’s what they had to say about the game itself, confirming

“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.

Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

What was somewhat surprising is that the press release made no mention of a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6, leading us to believe that Rockstar will skip the platform for its launch. This shouldn’t come as much of a shock, as past Grand Theft Auto games have also skipped PC during their launch and were released at a later date.

It’s still a massive disappointment if that’s the case, as the games have an enormous following on PC.
