Hogwarts Legacy’s Nintendo Switch release date has been delayed from its original date of July 25. The Nintendo Switch version of the wizard game will instead be released on November 14 later this year.

The announcement of the delay was made via the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account:

Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on all other announced platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy also had their releases delayed, with the game coming out on the aforementioned consoles on May 5, a month after the previous date of April 4. The Nintendo Switch version’s delay, on the other hand, pushes the game back by almost four months.

Given that the Nintendo Switch is the least powerful device among all supported platforms, it’s possible that the developers are working to optimize the game for the handheld console. The announcement tweet states that the creation of the best possible experience is their “top priority.”

Despite the game having been out for months already, Hogwarts Legacy continues to perform, with the game having recently surpassed over $1 billion in sales. A recent datamine also revealed various game files referencing cut content, including a reputation and morality system among other things. You can read about the findings here.
