Hogwarts Legacy stats released by Warner Bros. Games have revealed that the massively successful game has already racked up over 267 million hours played, with 1.25 billion Dark Wizards defeated, 393 million magical plants grown, and 242 million potions brewed. David Haddad, the company’s president, is “very pleased with the initial launch,” and sees “a bright future for [the game’s] other platform launches.”
Since its February 10 launch, Hogwarts Legacy has enjoyed an unprecedented level of success, especially considering that the last mainline Harry Potter film came out nearly 12 years ago.
The game broke Twitch’s single-player game viewership records three days before release with over 1.2 million concurrent viewers, and then achieved the second-highest concurrent player count of any single-player game on Steam with 850K+ players enjoying the game at the same time. According to EU market research company GfK, it debuted at #1 in the UK in terms of physical sales, 80% larger than 2022’s extremely-celebrated title Elden Ring. It has held that #1 spot in the region this week, and digital data from launch week has revealed that the game had an 88% bigger launch in the UK than Elden Ring.
Warner Bros. Games has now released Hogwarts Legacy stats that show that the game’s total playtime has exceeded 267 million hours as of Tuesday, even though the last-gen versions for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch are still months away from release. Other gameplay stats aggregated from players include:
- 393 million magical plants grown
- 242 million potions brewed
- 1.25 billion Dark Wizards defeated
Chief of Warner Bros.’ gaming division David Haddad sees Hogwarts Legacy as a “long-term” franchise and celebrated its popularity as follows:

[As of February 16,] we have tracked over 152 million hours played, 173 million magical plants grown, 115 million potions brewed and 556 million Dark Wizards defeated. We are very pleased with the initial launch and see a bright future for our other platform launches.
