Horizon Forbidden West New Gameplay Rides Out and It’s Very Impressive; Deep Dive Into Development Released

In today’s State of Play, Sony featured 13 impressive minutes of Horizon Forbidden West new gameplay that just looks, well, for lack of a better term, jaw-dropping.

Check out how impressive Aloy looks now, and admire the physics and more.

Elements from the previous game will remain, with some HUD improvements that have made it more sleek and stylized.

Grappling hooks, parachute gliding, and underwater exploration are some of the new techniques Aloy can do. She may now also climb through anything in the world, as opposed to the previous game’s climbing to only be limited on certain areas.

Aloy can now also do a special animated attack that pushes her spear into an opponent and combines the use of her bow.  Her spear can be charged for stronger attacks on more formidable opponents.

New machines and other gadgets were revealed, such as a smoke bomb and new arrows in Aloy’s possessions.

In another video, Guerrilla Games gives a deep dive into the game’s development:

Earlier today, Guerrilla Games presented the day & night cycle the game will feature, as well as a new snowyenvironment.

Horizon Forbidden West is set for release sometime this year on the PS4, and PS5.
