It’s Shotgun Vs. Demon In New Doom Teaser, E3 Gameplay Reveal Is June 14

On June 14 at 7:00 PM Pacific, Bethesda will give Doom fans — and long-time first-person shooter fans in general — what they’ve all been waiting for: a first look at the upcoming reboot, simply titled “Doom.”

It’s about time. Isn’t it? Like many who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order over one year ago, you’re probably wondering what the heck to do with that beta key you were awarded, promising you access to the Doom Beta some time before the end of 2015.

Between then and now, all of what we’ve seen or heard of Bethesda’s new project amounts to this short teaser trailer and this recounting of the behind-closed-doors gameplay footage shown to audiences at QuakeCon 2014. According to those who attended, we know that Doom is built on the idTech 6 engine and that it will run at 60FPS and 1080p. We also heard that it will attempt to reimagine the older games with a similar focus on run-and-gun gameplay, a Mars setting, and tons of gore and violence.

More than likely, Bethesda’s media briefing will detail the upcoming Doom Beta launch on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, along with presenting some action-packed gameplay. The game’s newest teaser trailer, showcasing a soldier loading buckshot into a double barrel shotgun and a monstrous screaming demon-thing with shoulder-mounted rocket launchers, can be viewed above.
