This year marks a significant milestone for Kojima Productions, not because of the release of a sequel to Death Stranding, but instead because it marks the 10th anniversary of the studio’s founding.

To celebrate, Hideo Kojima and the team are hosting a special event this month that will celebrate their achievement, as well as give us a sneak peek into what’s next for Kojima Productions.

Could We See OD or Physint Later This Month?

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Kojima Productions will be hosting a 10-year anniversary celebration event called “Beyond The Strand.” Though details are light, the event will celebrate the journey that the studio has undergone over the last 10 years since its founding, and will feature special guest appearances. Who those guests might be remains to be announced, though if we had to guess, we’re likely going to see some of the stars of Death Stranding, as well as key members of the development team that helped bring the franchise to life.

However, the interesting tidbit of information is that the studio has teased a “glimpse into future projects” during this event. While the odds of Death Stranding 3 being announced in any capcacity are slim to none, we do know that the studio is currently working on two other IPs, those being: OD and Physint.

OD (Overdose) is a project in collaboration with Xbox and film director Jordan Peele, which is said to be a new form of horror that will test “your fear threshold” and blur the lines between films and gaming. It was announced two years ago, and since then, the studio has been pretty silent on the project. All we have is this rather strange teaser that Hideo Kojima presented during the 2023 Game Awards show.

Project Physint, on the other hand, is a new stealth-action espionage game being developed along with PlayStation that was announced back in 2024. It’s unlikely that we’ll see this at the event, considering it was in its conceptual stage when it was announced, and Kojima stated that it was still 5-6 years away, which would put its release at 2029 or 2030. The studio also made it clear that they were focusing on Death Stranding 2, as well as OD, at the time of the announcement, so if we’re going to see anything at the event, our best bet is that it’s going to be OD.

But expectations should remain intact, as they say it’s just a glimpse of their future projects, so don’t expect anything major in terms of details. Still, they could surprise us, and knowing Kojima, he loves to divert expectations. That, and a glimpse could literally mean anything to the man.

Guess we’ll all find out when Beyond The Strand airs on September 23, 2025.
