Konami Delists Some Metal Gear Games From Digital Stores Following Master Collection Vol. 2 Announcement
If you were planning to grab some classic Metal Gear titles from digital stores like PlayStation or Xbox Store, you may be out of luck. Without any announcement or warning, Konami quietly pulled several entries from sale.
We are talking about Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD.
Konami Takes Down Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker From Digital Stores

The likely reason is the recent announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 during the State of Play, as both games are included in that collection.
Players who already bought the games will still have them in their library and can download and play them as usual. However, new buyers can no longer purchase them. Peace Walker has also been removed from the Xbox 360 store. Basically, the games have been taken down from sale before the collection is released.
Considering that we are talking about old games, available on consoles that are no longer on the market such as PS3, PSP, and Xbox 360, Konami’s decision feels unnecessary. It’s hard to believe many new players would buy old consoles and the original versions instead of waiting for the Master Collection, especially since that would cost more. Maybe the goal was simply to avoid confusion in the store search results?
In any case, Vol. 2 will not be released until August 27. Konami could have at least warned players before removing the games. A simple notice would have been enough instead of taking them down without saying anything.
