When you aren’t beating up bad guys and trying to escape the clutches of the Yakuza, chances are, you’ll find yourself enjoying the many activities around the luxurious resort of Honolulu. Despite the wealth of content to be enjoyed around the resort, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio today revealed a brand new mode that sees Ichiban and company take off to the deserted Dondoko Island. It’s time to take advantage of the opportunity and transform this island into your very own personal resort, as that’s precisely what the Dondoko Island game mode is all about.
As revealed during today’s Xbox Partner Preview event, below is a brand-new Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth that showcases the Dondoko Island game mode.
“Off the shore of Honolulu City lies Dondoko Island, a deserted island full of illegally dumped trash that has the potential to be so much more. With the help from new friends, his trusty baseball bat and other tools, Ichiban can transform the island by cleaning up garbage and recycling those materials into DIY furniture, buildings and more. You can also flex your managerial muscle and open the island’s gates to patrons. The blue Hawaiian sky’s the limit to creating the resort of your dreams on Dondoko Island!”
From the looks of it, this looks to be almost its own game. If it’s anything like past Yakuza/Like a Dragon’s management game modes, expect to see this off its own story, filled with countless replayability. All I can say is I’m excited to give this new mode a go, and luckily, we won’t have to wait long as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches in a few short months.
In the meantime, we’ll have Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name to look forward to as it drops next month. A demo of Infinite Wealth will also be available with the game.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on January 26, 2024, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
