Marathon Down no August 18 to Apply Update 1.1.5.4

Those playing Bungie’s extraction shooter will need to log off for a while, as the studio is taking Marathon down today, August 18, for a few hours in order to apply a new patch.

The downtime means no modes will work, and players won’t be able to connect to matchmaking.

Tuesday, August 18, 2026 — Scheduled Maintenance for Update 1.1.5.4

8:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon will undergo maintenance. Sign-on will be unavailable. Players actively in runs will be able to complete them.
8:05AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon will begin being brought offline for expected maintenance. Players will start being removed from activities.
9:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	The latest Marathon update is expected to become available across all platforms and regions.
10:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Players are expected to be able to log back into Marathon.* Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
11:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon maintenance is expected to conclude. Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update. Players who observe issues should report to the Marathon Help Forum.

Expect a download to be initiated an hour before the downtime ends, and once the patch notes are out, we’ll provide a link out to it within the article.
