Marathon Servers Down on July 28

Bungie has taken the servers down for its extraction shooter Marathon on July 28, and this is to bring a new patch online.

Expect this downtime to last a few hours, and once we’re near the servers going back up again, expect a client download for patch 1.1.5.1 across all platforms.

Update: The patch notes for today’s update are available now, with the major addition being the solo-only queue option for Vault Breaker.

Tuesday, July 28, 2026 — Scheduled Maintenance for Update 1.1.5.1

8:00 AM PDT UTC-7
  • Marathon will undergo maintenance.
  • Sign-on will be unavailable.
  • Players actively in runs will be able to complete them.
8:15AM PDT UTC-7
  • Marathon will begin being brought offline for expected maintenance.
  • Players will start being removed from activities.
9:00 AM PDT UTC-7
  • The latest Marathon update is expected to become available across all platforms and regions.

10:00 AM PDT

UTC-7

  • Players are expected to be able to log back into Marathon.*
  • Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
11:00 AM PDT UTC-7
  • Marathon maintenance is expected to conclude.
  • Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update.
  • Players who observe issues should report to the Marathon Help Forum.

Once the patch is out, we’ll have it up on the site and provide a link to it within this article. Given how Bungie has been on the ball when it comes to Marathon’s servers, we don’t expect any extension of the downtime, but if we do, we’ll make sure our readers know.
