Marvel’s Avengers Play Solo & Without AI Is Being “Pursued” by Crystal Dynamics, More Info Coming Soon

Marvel's Avengers Play Solo

While Marvel’s Avengers can be played solo (meaning you don’t need other people controlling your other teammates), you really can’t go at it alone without party members controlled by AI. It looks like that might be changing soon, as Crystal Dynamics Lead Combat Designer Vincent Napoli confirmed that the studio is looking to implement a Marvel’s Avengers play solo feature (with no AI), is being “pursued” by the studio.

This was confirmed by the developer over on the game’s subreddit where a fan asked whether an option to play Warzones and missions without AI is a possiblity.

Ability to play some warzones and missions without any AI (or less than 4) from PlayAvengers

This was Napoli’s response:

Can safely say that this is something we have always wanted to pursue and are now, in fact, doing so! More info should be coming soon!

Hopefully, in this case “soon” means in the next few weeks. In other Marvel’s Avengers news, don’t forget to check out the game’s 2021 roadmap (which we’ve updated) where it’s confirmed that Black Panther is the next hero coming our way.

Would you want to be able to choose how many teammates you can have in each mission or would just that frustrate players? Share your thoughts down below.

Nice.
Can we also have stand alone offline single-player story components as well in future?
You know, like a 5-6 hrs sub-story of BlackPanther or Deadpool. That doesn’t require the main live-service Avengers to be installed.
Yea, maybe I am asking too much.

Um there is already a single player story that doesn’t require you play with anyone….

A Marvel game with GAAS = Not a good decision
Stupid gear grind in a Marvel game = Bad decision
Some ugly character design = Awful
Boss fights = Kind of fun
Playing with a team = Makes the game a bit better
Defending certain command points in the game = Boring repetitive crap
Final verdict = 5/10

People that still have faith in this game will be setting themselves up for disappointment. Mediocre Marvel games should never be the future ever. Fans deserve to have more games like Spider-Man that came out in 2018.

TOO LATE. Its already a late after thought. That’s all we need to take away from this. They should have pursued this 4 years ago when they were handed and before WASTING any potential of this license. Although Square Enix Europe has to be blamed too.

In 2025 WB will also pursue a non forced co-op mode for Batman Whatever Its Called and Suicide Squad, 2 other games doomed since the day they were announced and years after they release too.
