In case you didn’t know, yesterday’s Marvel’s Avengers patch brought in a host of fixes, but also managed to cause crashing issues for the PS5 version of the game. Unfortunately, even after a day, the studio has still not resolved it. However, a Marvel’s Avengers PS5 crash fix workaround has been detailed by the studio, though it comes at a heavy price.
Over on Twitter, Crystal Dynamics acknowldged the issue and mentioned that they are still working on it, and that they are hoping a dev update will be ready by tomorrow. Here’s the message in full, which we’ve included below as text for an easier read.
Our team is continuing to investigate the issue causing a crash for some PS5 players. We think we've identified a fix that is currently being implemented/tested. We hope to have more news by tomorrow morning and will continue to keep you updated.

In the meantime, here’s a workaround that is resolving the issue for some players – just note that it will reset your campaign progress:
Go to Operations and Reset your Reassemble Campaign Progress. As soon as you become young Kamala on A-Day, force close the game from the PS home screen, then you should be able to start Avengers Initiative.
Yep, that’s not an ideal workaround, to be honest. For those affected, I’d wait it out since it seems the devs are close to figuring out a solution. Chances are, a new patch will be released just for this, and once it’s out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
