Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Update 1.07

Eidos Montreal has released Guardians of the Galaxy update 1.07 (PS5 version 1.007), and this doesn’t add any new content, and is mostly for removing the Square Enix account with the game, and a few other things. Read on for everything in today’s update in the Guardians of the Galaxy Feb. 21 patch notes.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Update 1.07 Patch Notes | Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Update 1.007 Patch Notes \ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Feb. 21 Patch Notes:

TL;DR

  • The early unlock for the War-Lord outfit, currently available to all players through the in-game main menu, will not be available anymore from February 21, 2023.
    • The outfit will remain findable in Chapter 13 of the game, as you explore the environments.
  • The Digital Deluxe edition of the game will be delisted from digital stores on February 21, 2023.
    • Players who already own this edition will not lose access to it, and they will be able to download and play it through their library as usual.
    • The Standard edition will still available for purchase on digital stores after this date.
  • If you already own the Digital Deluxe edition or purchase it before February 21, 2023, make sure to link your Square Enix account in-game before February 21, 2023 to receive your out-of-game bonuses (mini artbook and soundtrack) by email.
  • For players who purchase the physical Cosmic Deluxe edition, the bonus 25 Square Enix Members Reward Points will not be granted anymore from February 21, 2023.

Read on for more details on each of those changes.

WAR-LORD OUTFIT

Currently, this outfit can be unlocked early by linking your Square Enix account in the main menu of the game. When Square Enix Members services are removed on February 21, 2023, this early unlock functionality will not be available anymore. Make sure to link your account before then if you wish to have the early unlock.

All players can also find this outfit by exploring Chapter 13 of the game. This will still be the case after February 21, 2023.

DIGITAL DELUXE EDITION

The Digital Deluxe edition will be delisted from the following digital stores on February 21, 2023: PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam and Epic Games Store. This means it will not be purchasable anymore.
This has no impact on the Standard edition, which will remain available for purchase on those digital stores.

Players who already own the Digital Deluxe edition, or purchase it before February 21, 2023

You will still have access to their game: you’ll be able to download it from your library and play it as normal.

You must link your Square Enix account in the main menu of the game before February 21, 2023 to receive download links for the following two pieces of bonus content:

  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Hits – Original Soundtrack
  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Game – Mini Artbook

The following alternative ways of obtaining these two pieces of content will still be available after February 21, 2023:

  • On PlayStation consoles, players can also download this bonus content directly on their consoles, through their library.
  • On PC, the files for this bonus content are directly included with the downloaded game files.

COSMIC DELUXE EDITION (PHYSICAL)

This edition will still be available for purchase after February 21, 2023. Check with your local retailer for availability.

Players will still be able to redeem their bonus content on http://www.gotggame.com/redeem by using the Square Enix Members code found inside the physical game box. However, the bonus 25 Square Enix Members Reward Points will not be granted anymore from February 21, 2023.

As you can see, this seems to be the last title update released for the game. and it’s not surprising if so. This also puts a nail in the coffin for any sequel it seems.

Such a bummer we not only got no additional content but also are now having content removed. This game didn’t fail. Avengers did which caused them to not even promote the game and consumers lost trust in the publisher and team superhero games altogether, but of course consumers will take the blame.
